We’ve lived in this beautiful area for more than 40 years and have been offering scenic boat tours for nearly a decade. We welcome you to come and enjoy this special part of Newfoundland and share in the beauty of this place we call home.
Margaree Outfitters is located in the community of Margaree-Fox Roost, just 8 kms from the Port aux Basques ferry terminal. Take a journey back in time as we cruise past remote outport settlements from Margaree to Petites and from La Poile to Grand Bruit, and all of the treasure troves in between.
Take in the sights and our in-depth local knowledge of the area from the deck of our Bankes open 22-foot boat, the Mary Jane. We’ll get up-close to nature and wildlife against the scenic backdrop of “The Rock.” We’ll cruise into tranquil bays, past breaching whales and porpoises, peek-a-boo sunfish and inquisitive seabirds. Stilted fishing stages abound and outport houses are perched on hillsides. Waterfalls of fresh water cascade into the salty Atlantic Ocean, creating the perfect backdrop for your boating adventure.
A trip to Newfoundland isn’t complete without a boat tour on the Atlantic Ocean. Truly inspirational in its awe-inspiring geography, Southwestern Newfoundland’s solitude and unique ruggedness take centre stage as we motor past a rainbow of fishing boats moored off the land and old homes and buildings left behind during resettlement.
